Piko Wholefoods is a low profit organisation set up in 1979. We are a vegetarian wholefood store, specialising in certified organic and gluten free foods. Our aims are to promote organics and to support a sustainable future for our communities. Many of our goods are sold in bulk, not only to reduce cost, but also to encourage recycling of containers. Our low profit policy ensures the mark-up on organic food is kept to a minimum.

My name is Victor MacGill. I am a PhD student of the uNiversity of the Sunshine Coast, but living in Nelson researching organisations that operate without a structured leadership. My main focus is the Convergence gathering, but I am also interested in smaller organisations run as a co-op or similar to caompare the two. I have been looking around Nelson but haven't found a group that fits what I want, so I thought of Piko since I lived in Christchurch in the 1980s.
I would like to interview someone about how Piko works, how people join and leave, how conflict is handled, what works and what doesn't etc. I am thinking of about 30 minutes by skype or phone or I could send the questions to be answered by email.
I lok forward to hearing from you
cheers
Victor MacGill
Hi Victor - I would suggest getting in touch with Piko directly using the 'Email' link in the sidebar or the 'contact - Piko wholefoods' link under the listing.
All the best.
