Tanglewood Retreat is a unique accommodation & events centre just outside of Auckland on the West Coast. We have the beautiful Cobhouse, a cottage built out of recycled materials which sleeps four, plus a few other cosy cabins around the property.
Our al-fresco woodfired pizza oven & hot tub area overlooks a valley in the Woodhill Forest. The Pirateship Treehouse which sleeps 2, boasts a hangout area in the stern and the Potting Shed, a cosy cabin with woodburner looks out over the gorgeous valley as well.
We are passionate about sustainability and for every booking we plant a native tree.

Surfing - there are plenty of surf beaches close by. Muriwai is only 10 minutes by car. Vineyards, Woodhill Forest, mountain biking, horse trekking, hiking, paintball and the Tree Adventures challenge course are all within a 15 minute drive from Tanglewood. Our stay was wonderful really got to get away into nature and feel completely relaxed and connecting with your thoughts and partner.
Cosy cabin with amazing fire place and outdoor entertainment area Stacey and Ricardo were wonderful at making us feel welcome also.
