Founded by the Koanga Institute and the Kotare Community Land Trust, Kotare Village is a community in development in the Northern Hawkes Bay region, with the goal of becoming largely self-reliant in food, health, energy, clothing, shelter, currency and finance.
They seek to create a replicable model that builds on the experience of the eco-village movement worldwide, through regenerative farming, holistic management, permacultural design and a solid communications foundation.
Kotare Village will be home for 50 families as well as the Koanga Institute’s Centre for Regenerative Living.
