Today is global wind day – a chance to acknowledge the contribution wind energy is making to New Zealand, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority chief executive Mike Underhill said.
“From a solitary wind turbine installed in the Wellington suburb of Brooklyn in 1993, wind energy has grown into a mature and mainstream form of energy generation, contributing 4 per cent of the country’s electricity. In addition, we have a growing domestic wind industry which is also active overseas.
