Our two-storey eco-home is nestled in the Stoke hills with views toward the western ranges, Kahurangi National Park and Tasman Bay.
The house is six years old and features natural finishes on timber throughout. Double glazing and high insulation values are part of the passive solar design. Our garden is organic and productive and has a somewhat wild, cottage feel.
The private guest suite, located on the ground floor at the far end of the house, opens onto the garden and faces North for all-day sun, with views across to the mountains. The studio and private guest bathroom are on the ground floor of our two-storey home. The spacious room has a queen-sized bed, a desk and two lounge chairs. There is also a walk-in wardrobe with a hand-basin and mirror and plenty of room to store your luggage. The studio contains a kitchenette with fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle, small benchtop oven and electric stovetop – utensils and crockery are provided along with tea/coffee.
Guests have private ranch-slider access from the front path directly to the studio room.
